Just in time for today's Creative Tuesdays theme (health), I spoke to a friend who works at the Living Foods Institute in Atlanta. I had volunteered there before and in general have been very receptive to the ideas & outcomes of living a raw/living foods lifestyle. Though I have engaged in it on/off over the years, I have found myself deficient in time/habits/resources to make a go of it. Whenever I do, though, I feel rejuvenated!
The one thing I have taken away and do fairly consistently is juicing, especially green juices. At times when I have felt tremendously bloated, stressed, or unwell, I will juice fast for a day or two.
I am contemplating, if not a juice fast then at least incorporating more green juices into my life after I finish my long standing intensive Epic Painting Project!
So here is a picture, then, of green juice in the making. More recipes can be seen here.

ok, you have convinced me, i need a juice fast!
i love your interpration and sketch for this week!
so inspiring! I need it!
You are braver than I, dear Alicia! Yes, i was hoping someone might show a pic like this too--blender with stuff. TY. good interpretation and I bet it took a while to illustrate too, right? TY!
what a great idea, green juice, good for you Alicia, nice painting too!
Oh, now that is very interesting! And your drawing is very cute, too!
I just downloaded a documentary film "Fat,Sick, & Nearly Dead," about a guy who decides to take a trip around the country showing how it is possible to return to a healthy way of living by consuming nothing but juice that he prepares himself out of locally grown food --thus killing 2 birds with one stone --and losing about 50 lbs in the process! Maybe I'll try that too...
Super interpretation of the theme. Cool picture too :) I do love fresh cheery juice - yumm!
Yum yum! Juices are good!! Great sketch!

Love this sketch, and it makes me hungry! The bright colors remind me too how foods that are good for you are also so beautiful to look at (-: I'd also love to eat a blended meal of these!
I love juicing, and the green ones, if done right can be delicious. I like how you used crayon here, very much attunes the topic to a youthful place, making the message that healthy living should be something addressed early on. How I saw it anyhow. Thanks
I was on a trip last week and didn't get to comment.
I think this is a great drawing, and yes, I'm going to go get my blender off the top shelf, and start using it again.
The drawing is simple..but so meaningful. Nice job.
