This is pretty interesting - it showed up in my inbox. The article relates 'the healing power of drawing'.
"When we learn that we have a serious illness, we may be overwhelmed with emotion and barely able to think straight. Bernie Siegel, MD, who wrote Love, Medicine & Miracles, a groundbreaking book on the power of attitude and outlook on healing, suggests a strategy that can help us cope. He says that we should get out our crayons and markers and draw—yes, draw. This can help relieve our fears and anxiety—and may even give us insight into feelings we are not consciously aware of."
The rest of the article shows things that one might analyze when looking at art through the prism of health.
And now, for Sunday Sketches, I submit some freeform sketches, of the type that would lend themselves to some sort of therapeutic analysis due to the meditative state through which they were sketched.
I will strive to get to as many participants I can btw late afternoon sometime tomorrow and Monday- and encourage all to do the same! Always great creativity on display in this 2nd year anniversary they are celebrating.
As an aside, I have a question re. comments features on Blogger -
I see that some blogs have the capacity to respond directly to a commenter. My blog does not seem to have that. Is there a workaround? Any insights appreciated!

Love love love your freeform sketches... I think drawing is one of the most therapeutic activities out there... about the only thing that quiets the riot in my head ... so I enjoyed reading that little excerpt you shared with us... thanks xx
Great post...totally agree, art is very healing...not sure how you get the reply. It just appeared one day. It doesn't go to the email though, you have to check back to the blog..
Cool!!
So much glorious detail...very good therapy, to get stuck into something that is so complex you give it all you have got and then everything else in life falls into perspective.
xx

your drawings do look very contemplative, and totally therapeutic!
Can't answer your question, except...were they blogger blogs or wordpress or some other? That might be a clue.
ok the drawing is a little disturbing, seems like you had something to get out of your system. nice article btw. :)
This is absolutely amazing! I LOVE this free form drawing, the energy in it is amazing! xoxo
Love the freestyle nature of these doodle-oos. Especially like the thoughtful-looking kitty.
this is wonderful, i love your lines of creation and freedom!
I don't know how that comment thing works either!!
Like your sketches - full of energy. Also fascinated by the report of that doctor. I certainly find art relaxing.
your freeform sketches are wonderful-- so much great detail and emotion captured.
and i can't agree more about art work, in various forms, being a great way to relax and heal!
thanks for sharing!
it is blogger - possibly a limitation of the platform. Blogger def. has some limitations, though other plusses that make it worthwhile
thanks all for the kind wishes! I think a 'free style' develops when you are unafraid to put out there something that's half finished or unpolished, or disturbing (as here mentioned) and possibly downright ugly.
These freeform sketches are WONDERFUL!! You have quite a talent with the pencil there... :-) Great work! xoxo
I NEED to get notifications from this blog too! Why don't you send me a FeedBurner link? Pleazzzze!
