Sucesss.... and Sunday Sketches

Against incredible odds, I managed to fund my Kickstarter campaign.

It can still be seen here and I will be posting updates to keep my wonderful backers informed of all proceedings.

I have also begun a separate blog to document my Turner adventures.

Thanks to all who played!!!

Also, in time for Sunday Sketches, I would like to simultaneously submit this sketch which I doodled during the whole madcap crazy process. It was actually one which I did as a demo for the nice lady from the Marshall News Sentinel who did a story about my project for the local paper. She has asked me if I could do a demo of a painting in action - but my oil painting studio is put away for the winter! and due do generalized lack of space....... so then I suggested I could quickly sketch something for her for the newspaper - this sketch actually appeared in the photograph that accompanied that story.
This really could not have come at a better time for me. I've suffered misfortune after misfortune in the financial arena, and a time of few contracts and jobs (the plight of the freelancer) had left both hubby and I in a funk of diminished income and idle time. Now I can spend the next 3 months productively - AND have the funds to do so - something which has not been generally true for me in the past.

I also have to give a shout-out to my dear mother who went in there and PUSHED the thing to everyone imaginable right when the campaign was more than 75% done and only 25% funded. Her efforts made the pledges double, which gave me the impetus to go after the rest.

Thanks to the lovely Sophia for hosting Sunday Sketches! All go here to see more groovy sketch entries
