late to the party
paint party friday, that is - http://paintpartyfriday.blogspot.com/
I wanted to post earlier but had a crazy day!
I just wanted to post this old drawing/painting from a long long time ago - this was a house I used to live in. I would say, it's the house I grew up in, even. A lot of good memories!
This is the best photo I got of it - I drew this back in 2004. So here is the unadulterated version:
still could not get it any less fuzzy, though
have a great day!

Ss - portrait of relatives
This is me engaging with the mortal combat of portraiture
These are some relatives, who live overseas and whom I have not seen in years. The gentleman has Parkinson's and is dying, so this is a gift for my aunt (shown in the picture).
I have never formally formalized a methodology for doing portraits that actually look like people, so I usually just stumble around, hit or miss, till I get as close as I can and then I cal it DONE. With some ppl it's super easy - this one was one of the easier ones I've done.

PPF - beginning of the year painting
Hi everyone! At paint party friday! Thanks to Eva and Kristin for the fun blog hop - am happy to have decided to come back
I haven't been blogging a lot lately so i will share stuff I've made from the past. I hope to get to visit as many ppl as I can today
I am sharing a New Years painting - I had received both the sketchbook (a nice big size) and the markers for Christmas so I decided to work on an INaugural Sketch that then became a crazy painting!
I remember being, as with every year, full of joy and hope for things to come. Midway through the year I can say it's been a mixed bag - I'm sure others feel the same!
SOme things that affected me deeply this year were the death of David Bowie, this loss began an art project, one sketch of which can be seen here:
I've created 5 or 6 finished Bowie inspired pieces which I will probably share here later
also, get your colouring book doodles here! http://doodlescription.com/5/
art created by me to be coloured by you

PPF - SS - Colouring Pages
Hi all, it's been a long time, and I also have a new URL.
I had to use my old URL to put up my art portfolio, which can be found on this site here:
aliciaraya.com
Working on that portfolio site was amazing, because I had the opportunity to review pretty much everything artistic that I have done in the past 10, 12 years. Some things are still missing, but most of it was there.
As can be seen, I still have not salvaged the images on this blog, and still haven't decided what to do with it, though I am choosing to update now, for old time's sake, but also because I wanted to share my new project with y'all. Doubt anyone remembers me now but I was a habitual poster back in 2012 through 2014, when a series of calamities and changes of direction made my weekly participation difficult.
I teamed up with my good friend who is an internet marketer and we launched this doodling pages project. The facebook page is here and the website is here. We would certainly love some facebook love! As well, if you or anyone you know is fond of doodles, or colouring pages, this is a great way to get some.
Highlights from some of these are:

barn quilt process
I had already posted a quilt barn I had made, but here are some process pics
one day I will do something with this blog I swear lol
thanks to whoever has stopped by this blog or my other one. I've mentioned before re having a semi catastrophic year and needing to step away from this process
I have been very artistically busy however
and I am hoping to come back and redo this site and the entire process

update
I should really do something with this blog but I don't care to
since I wrote this I had a car accident (mild) and broke a bone in my leg, and my solar return's not yet beat. Who knows what else is gonna happen
I haven't felt like updating or fixing this blog since the accident that had me delete all images because, well, I haven't decided what to do with it all. I had this blog for 10 years and now it's fucked.
I've been actually over at my kickstarter blog, turner.aliciaraya.com because I have had good fortune making commissions, etc
in any event for old time's sake and until I delete this blog, here are some recent images of art projects. If you know or care who I am at all, chances are you already saw these elsewhere on facebook or whatnot but almost all we do in this life is to make ourselves feel better in some way (mo matter how incomprehensible or improbable to others) so here they are
